Electrocautery

Surgical procedures carry certain risks, such as bleeding, pain, allergic reactions, and more, that need to be minimized in order to have the best chance for success. When dentists and surgeons make incisions in the mouth, it is important that these incisions are in the proper locations to avoid nerves, arteries, and veins in the mouth. One of the tools that a dentist will use to minimize these risks is called an electrocautery machine.

An electrocautery machine is a very precise machine that helps to minimize these issues.  The dentist simply needs to press a button on the device to begin the cutting process. When the dentist hits the button, the device will cut using an electrical arc. The electricity will shoot out from the tip of the machine and cut through the tissue. Because the device doesn’t require any wrist movement on behalf of the surgeon, the device is much more precise and therefore minimizes the chance for mistakes. In addition, the device minimizes bleeding because it cauterizes when it cuts and stop the bleeding. This will keep the surgical field clear and minimize blood loss during delicate surgical procedures.

What is a Class B Sterilizer?

A Class B Sterilizer is a high level steam sterilizer that uses a vacuum pump to remove air/steam mixtures from the chamber prior to sterilization cycle beginning . This process can remove 99% of the air inside of the chamber before the temperature and pressure increases to it’s necessary parameters. This dynamic air removal provides the necessary conditions to sterilize any load type, including porous or hollow materials, products in pouches, textiles and hollow items like wands, turbines, handpieces and tips.
Dynamic Air Removal Sterilizers (Class B) are the preferred method of sterilization.

A Class B sterilizer on the other hand, with the help of a vacuum pump is able to provide more complete air removal from the most difficult load types before the sterilization cycle begins. With the help of the vacuum pump, the complete air removal from the chamber allows better penetration of steam into difficult load types to ensure the load is 100% properly sterilized before use. This makes the Class B sterilizer the most versatile small, effective, and compact tabletop sterilizer type on the market that is able to efficiently and effectively sterilizer any load type used in the dental, medical, podiatry, chiropodist, tattoo and veterinary markets.

Portable X-ray Unit

Handheld x-ray devices offer advantages compared to traditional wall-mounted units, including portability and flexibility in patient care.

1. The patient may feel less intimidated about x-rays if the operator stays in the room     instead of running out to stand behind a wall during exposure.

2. The ability to stay in the room makes it ideal for use with  any patient who has difficulty with x-rays, including pediatric, geriatric, special needs, or fearful patients.

3.In addition, staying in the room may reduce the number of retakes caused by patient movement and improve efficiency and workflow. In fact, the time needed to take radiographs is often reduced by half, saving approximately 120 hours annually.

4. The freedom to position portable devices at any angle makes it possible to take x-rays while the patient is reclined or sitting upright.

5. One handheld device can service up to four operatories, eliminating the need for multiple wall-mounted units.

6. Images from newer handheld units are often superior to older wall-mounted units.

Even if you boast 20:20 vision, microscopic details of teeth require magnification, and dental loupes provide the user with vision which is far superior to that which could be achieved naturally.

With the use of dental loupes, users can view all details of the oral
cavity with enhanced magnification; improving your visual acuity and
allowing for a more precise interpretation of the details.

Enhanced magnification not only assists with your vision but also allows you to do more in less time. Allowing you to work with precision and accuracy, a high-quality set of dental loupes will allow you to work at a faster pace; ensuring enhanced vision and better eye-coordination.

Maximising outcomes for both patient and practitioner, dental loupes allow dental professionals to work with reduced stress levels, safe in the knowledge that their eyesight is taken care of.

Rubber Dam

IMG_20230421_090117

The Many Advantages of Rubber Dam Use in Dentistry

1. Retraction of Soft Tissue

By eliminating the distraction of tissues and even other teeth, your practitioner can focus more readily on the tooth in need of restoration, for a quicker, more efficient procedure.

2. Excellent Infection Control

Studies have shown that dam placement can reduce the potential for airborne salivary fluids by 70%. It can prevent oral microbes from entering the root canal and causing infection that can lead to treatment failure.

3. Increased Patient Safety

Simply put, a rubber dam can keep instruments from being accidentally inhaled or ingested by the patient during treatment. In addition, patient care is simplified by rubber dam placement as they remove the need for constant rinsing of the mouth to remove debris.

4. Enhanced Comfort for Dental Patients

Patients who have experienced dental procedures that required the use of a rubber dam find them to be more comfortable and pleasant that those without dam placement. This may be because the dam blunts the feel of the dental instruments, rinses, and other materials that are used in operative dentistry.

5. More Accuracy for Dental Professionals

This isolation removes the distraction of active tongue movement and other soft tissues, reduces mirror fogging that can interfere with procedures, and showcases the correct tooth for restoration while blocking the rest of the mouth from view, helping to increase focus.

6. Greater Protection of Soft Tissues

Typically, dental procedures require the use of instruments, including rotary and burr devices. A rubber dam provides protection to the soft tissues of the mouth from potential trauma caused by the practitioner’s hands or instruments.

Pre-filled syringe cartridges have many advantages over traditional syringes. These advantages revolve around convenience, sterility and accuracy..If a patient requires a quick injection or there is an emergency, having a pre-filled syringe cartridge ready is more convenient than filling a standard syringe. This way, health workers can also be sure to provide accurate dosage to patients instead of overfilling or underfilling the barrel, which can negatively affect the treatment. An important advantage is that drugs into cartridges can remain sterile for about two or three years instead the medications in standard syringes will have a shelf life of about 12 hours.

The needles are so thin that the you can hardly notice the prick making the process painless and so comfortable.

Facebow with Articulator

A facebow is an instrument that helps determine the relationship of the upper jaw to the skull, it records the position to the maxillary teeth in relation to the condyle.

A semi-adjustable articulator helps replicate this recorded position outside the mouth. also the position of the lower teeth with respect to the upper teeth is replicated on the articulator. hence the whole oral assembly is outside the mouth and can viewed it from all angles.

This is especially a mandate in full mouth rehabilitation cases where all the teeth are worn out and need to be worked on. It becomes essential to record all relations correctly. If these steps are skipped for lack of armamentarium it can lead to grave consequences like severe pain in the jaw joint, severe headaches, difficulty swallowing, further grinding and chipping of teeth.

So choose your dentist wisely to avoid grave consequences to incorrect treatment.

An intraoral scanner is a handheld device used to directly create digital impression data of the oral cavity. The device provides accurate details of the hard and soft tissues located in the oral area through high-quality images. Enhanced patient scanning experience.
Digital scan reduces patient discomfort
considerably because they do not have to endure the inconveniences and
discomfort of traditional impressions, such as unpleasant impression
trays and the possibility of gag reflex.

Time-saving and fast results
Reduces the chair time required for
treatment and scan data can be sent immediately to the dental lab via
the software. You can instantly connect with the dental Lab, reducing
